Bobby Pin Storage – From a Box O’Powder

Welcome back! Ok, I should really be saying that to myself – it’s been a busy few months and several other things had to take a priority over the blog. But, today I’m back!

I really enjoy the challenge of trying to figure out how to reuse things, especially when it’s a nice container (I’m a sucker for a nice container!). Benefit cosmetics’ box o’powder fits right into this; it’s cute, good quality, and there just has to be another way to use it! Well, I think I’ve discovered a pretty neat reuse, that also solves a problem I have.

Campground Reviews – How to keep track of where we’ve been

screen-capture-3 I think I have a very common problem when it comes to camping (at least I hope it’s common!). Since it is a seasonal activity, when summer rolls around I can never remember where we went the previous year. Plus, remembering what site we stayed at and the ins-and-outs of the campground? Umm… Not a chance!

To solve this problem, we started reviewing our campsites during each trip. It started out as notes in a small notepad, and now has turned into a campground review printable. After each trip, I try to scan the sheet into Evernote (although it doesn’t always happen). Then, when we plan our camping trips in the years to come, all we have to do is search our reviews in Evernote for the campground we want to go to!

IMG_3161 Do you have weeks where life is just too busy and chaotic to keep everything straight? A lot of my weeks have been like that lately! With the kitchen remodel, and a new assignment at work my normal routine has disappeared. While things will be calming down eventually, in the meantime we’ve had to bring a little extra organization to our house in order to keep things moving along.

Christmas Gift List – Organized Shopping

One of the biggest parts of the Christmas preparation is getting gifts purchased. So, organizing this task makes the entire season so much more enjoyable.  There are a few things I do to make christmas gift shopping as painless (and fun!) as possible. A electronic and printable christmas gift list is step one!

Organizing a Tent Trailer

It’s the end of the season, so I thought I’d talk about how we managed to go on eight camping trips this season, with little packing stress. The key was organizing the tent trailer (a.k.a. “pop-up” trailer). Most of these tips  apply to camping in general. It is a work in progress, so below I’ve shared what we did this summer. Organized Hall Closet

IMG_2829 The hall closet can very easily become a mess. Sheets, towels, toiletries… they can into one giant messy avalanche. Our system has been to contain all the little stuff in plastic totes, allowing us to easily carry things into another room should we need to use them. Plus putting things away is a breeze. Here’s how I’ve organized our hall closet…
